Occasionally I have dogs for adoption/ rehoming. Sometimes these are dogs that I have raised. Sometimes they are dogs I have fostered or found and have vetted. In herding one has to wait for the dogs to mature to test for the trait of herding. While alot of dogs chase livestock, demonstrating prey drive, the desire to actually herd and manage the livestock has to be seen to be a candidate for further training . Many herding breeds will chase from a young age, but the action of going around the livestock in an attempt to control them is ideal. Most breeds really "kick" in with herding at about 9 months, hence having to keep them until they are with in that age range.



There is a $150 rehoming fee to cover the medical costs. Families must have a fenced yard and fill out a short application before the dogs are placed.
